Nesting bowl by Jack Doherty
Jack Doherty's works in the UK feature modern design, bold forms of simplicity combined with traditional processes and materials, and his unique soda firing surface. In particular, his tableware uses stone clay (Onggi clay) made in St. Agnes, the coast near the studio. This unrefined clay is also called wild clay. It has the characteristic of creating a very rich and natural color through the firing process of the soda kiln.
His works are fired only once in a soda kiln and do not use glaze. Instead, sodium-mixed water is sprayed in a high-temperature kiln to react with the silica in clay, forming a glaze naturally on the surface of the object. At this time, the special color and texture of his work are created.

Precautions for use
- Since artisans make them one by one manually, even the same product can cause differences in color, pattern, shape, size, etc..
- Ovens, microwave ovens, or IH cooking heaters are not available.
- After use, wash one by one carefully with a soft sponge without using a dishwasher or dryer. Also, do not use iron scrubbers or abrasives because the surface may get damaged.
- After washing, dry it sufficiently, and be careful not to touch other things because they may absorb or crack due to differences in intensity when storing.
- Do not tap or rub with objects such as spoons.
- If there is a crack or wound, do not use it because it may be dangerous when used.
